Simon and Simon

Recently I was browsing the videos at the story and saw one for the old tv show Simon and Simon. I liked watching that show as a child. If you don't remember-- it is about two brothers who are private detectives. They also happen to have very different personalities and likes. It makes me laugh because I see so many differences in my own boys personalities and tastes. So my next few post are going to showcase some of these differences. Stay tuned.

Well we are back in school. Then out of school for the flu-- Alex got hit the worst. The kitchen cabinets are repainted and looking great. The new year is looking busier than ever as we get read to move. I am sorry I haven't posted anything for a bit. I'll be doing some back posting to catch up. Just wanted to let anyone who reads know I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth.

Happy New Year

This is how we spent the first day of our new year. Painting, cooking, measuring the boys to see how much they have grown and human pyramids. Great day!!!

new years eve

We had a fabulous time at with the Suddabys for New Year's Eve. The boys played to their hearts content. Brent and Judy spoiled us with lots wonderful food. They were also very thoughtful. Knowing we don't drink they got sparkling apple juice for everyone. They didn't even say anything about it. Jeff brought it up asking them if they usually would have some wine. Well yes they said but not a big deal this time. Couldn't ask for anything kinder.

fixing the wall

After the hole in the wall was fixed the wall looked great

jeff is hunting

Jeff went hunting New Year's day with our friend Doug and Rudy his dog. It was more just having fun hiking around as they didn't really see any birds. The one exception was the one that flew in front of a house. Doug thought better of trying for it.

enjoying the spoils

The boys were tastefully spoiled this year.

Christmas morning

This isn't a very good picture of the boys, but it was our best. They are all lined up to see if Santa Clause came to visit.

Christmas Eve 2009

Christmas Eve was a very interesting day. Jeff and I wanted to have some friends over in the afternoon. Suddenly we got a few calls from random people who heard we were doing something on Christmas Day. We had no plans but to stay in our pjs. But to compensate we invited a few more people on Christmas Eve. It was very lovely with LOTS of food. Later in the evening we went to our friends the Riddels for more food and friends.

That is Dane on the couch completely crashed while everyone sang carols. He was definitely out for the count. He gave everyone a good chuckle.

fond memories

We had the missionaries to dinner. Jeff was so excited. He wanted a picture of him looking like a missionary again. All he needs is a tag.

alex really does go to school

I have always managed to forget my camera when taking Alex to school. I really love his school-- Bellevue Heights Nursery School for those in Syracuse. It is a bit pricey but well worth it. Anyway for the Christmas program they had a cute little program with cookies after.

Seth, Sue, and Alex (Seth went to school here last year and loves Sue too).

boys will be BOYS!!!!!

Okay it finally happened. Our basement walls are pretty much hammered. That is where we tell the boys to play. They can rough house down there to their hearts content. So when Bry came to me and told me there was a hole in the wall, I replied that I knew it already. (There is a ding in the wall about the size of a .50 piece.) However Bry was like, "NO. There is a WHOLE in the wall." I am sure you can see the difference in what he was trying to get across. All I can say it that it's a good thing I know how to fix this. Thanks Dad. And now Oliver know how to fix it too.
