Relearning
Dane is learning to walk again after breaking his leg. I was getting a bit nervous because it took him several days to even try and walk on it. But once he did it was just like when he learned to walk. He is very happy and doesn't really complain. The cutest thing he says is holding his arms up, "Hold you mama. Hold you mama." when he wants to be picked up. If he'd continued doing the army crawl I think I would have lost it. Now however he is climbing onto the tramp and jumping with his cast on. I'll try and get a shot of that one too.

At Seth's school they have Monday Program. It is a weekly assembly to sing happy birthday, recognize the stars of the week, sing the school song and so forth. It is very community oriented and quite cute. Throughout the year each class takes a turn giving a program. May 24th the kindergarten classes all preformed with an American theme. Here is one of the songs they sung. Seth is standing and has on a red Mickey Mouse shirt.

A family home evening not to repeat
We had a family home evening I hope never to repeat. I am sure that nobody will forget it. Poor little Dane broke his leg and we all got to sign his cast. Whether you want whole story or not here it is.....
We are playing at Oliver and Bryant's soccer game (they lost, but Bry had some awesome saves in the goal. Oliver almost headed the ball into the goal). Jeff and I take turns playing with the other boys on the play ground during the game. Really Jeff does more playing than I do. Anyway Jeff was taking Dane down the curvey slide on his lap. On one of the curves Dane's leg got squished between the slide and Jeff. Dane cried for a good long while. For anyone who knows my boys they are not cryers. So we were a bit concerned. He did settle down after repeating over and over, "Daddy sqished me," through the tears. We took him home, gave him some Motrin and gave him a nap. He didn't want to put any weight on his leg. When he woke up he still wouldn't put any weight on it, but acted fine other than that. By 7 pm however I took him to the ER. I went to Community Hospital to avoid all the craziness of Upstate, only to be rushed out of my room with Dane for a gunshot wound. I should have gone to Upstate where our friend ,Chris, was on call and would have taken care of him. To make a long story longer the x-ray came back negative. But that is because Dane's bones are soft enough yet that they don't show up yet. It is called a toddler fracture. In the Er they put on a hard splint and we followed up Monday morning with an orthopedist who put on a nice blue cast. Dane was a champ through all of this. He was only upset when they went to take off the split. He wanted it on. I think he realized that it helped him. So now Dane has a cast and can walk on it, but won't yet. It is so sad to see him doing the army crawl around. It sure is helping his speaking.

Too long...
I have not posted anything in way too long. My excuse is that I have been trying to keep everything chronological. But I'm just getting further behind. So I will fill you all in really fast and give all the details on the past 5 months.
Dane turned two in February!! He loves to sing Happy Birthday. The boys shaved their heads. Jeff and I went on a cruise in April just before his birthday. It was wonderful. The boys had a ton of fun with Grandma and Grandpa while we were gone. Our house is on the market here is Syracuse. No real bites yet. So pass the word around if you know anyone in the Syracuse housing market. Bryant turned 9 this past week. Now I don't have to have people gasp at me when they ask about my kids and I reply, "I have 5 boys ages 2,4,6,8 & 10." We are on count down mode to moving the end of June to Utah for Jeff's new job in South Jordan. That is us in a nut shell. Here are a few pics of the events.
