Little York Lake

Our neighbors and friends the Spineks have a house on Little York Lake just south of Syracuse. They invited us out for a Saturday afternoon. We had such a blast. The boys were in the water for hours. I must admit that I was too. I forget how much I love being in the water and playing. I tossed a tennis ball to the boys to catch when they jumped off the dock for about an hour. Bruno their dog played too. He reminds me of our dog, Hubble, when I was in kindergarten. We kayaked ate and enjoyed some great company. The pictures below are coming through blurry. Sorry about that. They are clear on my computer. I am not sure what is wrong.

On a different note we also had a lesson on the word of wisdom. Our friends know that we don't drink and are totally respectful of that. However in with the drinks was a two liter bottle of Ginger Ale that wasn't actually Ginger Ale but beer. Oliver was pouring a drink of it and Jeff was helping him. It started to foam over. Jeff tells Oliver, "Quick drink it you're going to spill." Oliver's lips touch the foam and he stops, looks up at Jeff with a look of Yuck. Jeff continues to tell Oliver to drink it and when Oliver doesn't, Jeff starts in. He stopped just as quickly-- Yuck was all he could tell me. That is disgusting. While our hosts felt very bad and apologized over and over, I think that is the last lesson we will have to teach Oliver about alcohol. He knows he doesn't like it.

  2. What a great story! Oliver will enjoy telling that one when he gets older - his Dad tried to get him to drink alcohol!

  3. Erin! I can't believe how big your boys are! I'm so glad you found my blog, I tried to reply awhile back and couldn't access yours through your profile so I've been asking around for an email address - I'm glad I checked your profile again because I've been wanting to say hi and see your cute family. I hope you are doing well.
