Sunday we got up and headed to Lake Placid. There was a church there on John Brown Road. The same John Brown who was the famous abolitionist during the Civil War. He was killed at Harper's Ferry, but was buried here in Lake Placid. The Oylmpic sky jumps are also on the same road. Anyway after church (we tripled the size of the Primary), we visited the homestead and the sky jump site. I have a new appreciation for both. The jump was amazing though, pictures don't give the full scope of what the jumpers do. It is sooooooo high and steep. Standing in the judges booth, you can't see the full hill because it drops down too fast. Scarey, but the view is again beautiful.

John Brown's grave along with 8 others who were killed at Harper's Ferry.

The little LDS church building we went to.

Hiking at the John Brown Homestead.

The Olympic flame. Lake Placid has hosted the Olympics twice-- 1932 and 1980.

One the judges stand of the sky jumps.

The top half of the sky jump.

The bottom half of the jump.

At the winners stand.

Trying to be artsy.
The next few pictures are on the second walk we took on Sunday. The boys love to pose for the camera. Okay I always start it. I am trying to get some cute shots of them.
